Circa Comix was a branding project designed to challenge by providing a single word for reference: “Circa”. From that word student groups were instructed to develop branding and products for a fictitious business. Drawing from the meaning of the word circa, the concept for a comic book store that featured both new and resale comics emerged.
The packaging concept was designed to interfere minimally with the cover art and overall branding of the original comic while still providing the greatest level of information possible

Thin backer boards were added inside of the last page and the comics were then wrapped using clear plastic. Adhesive labels were then affixed to the packaging, allowing independent comic book stores to change prices or to adjust for the resale of a comic.

A rating system was created to inform customers of the themes, age, and overall condition of a comic for purchase via stickers affixed to product packaging
